Street Watch Africa

Report it. Track it.
Get it fixed.

Dark street? Dumpsite? Crater? Report it.

Takes about a minute. Every report is mapped, sent to the people responsible, and tracked until it is fixed. The whole city can see how long that takes.

You can report from any state today. Lagos is the first state where our team also sends each report to the agency and follows it up. The most requested states open next.

Privacy note

Last updated 13 October 2026

Street Watch Africa is run by Africa Elysium in Lagos, Nigeria. This note explains what we collect when you use it, what the public can see, and your choices. Questions or requests: infoafricaelysium@gmail.com.

What we collect

We do not ask for your name, and you do not need an account to report.

What is public

Every report is public on the map and dashboard: the photo, location, street, problem details, status, dates and how many people reported it. State votes are shown only as totals. Your WhatsApp number and device code are never public.

Why we use it

We use your information because you choose to submit it, and because reporting public problems serves the public interest.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Photos

Please photograph the problem, not people. Avoid faces, number plates and the inside of homes. We remove or replace photos that show people or private details if we spot them or if you ask us.

How long we keep it

Reports stay public as part of the record of what was reported and fixed. We delete WhatsApp numbers within 6 months of a report being fixed, or sooner if you ask. Contact details left with a state vote (WhatsApp, email, name and organisation) are deleted within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete your WhatsApp number, remove a photo, or review a report you made. Email infoafricaelysium@gmail.com with the report ID if you have it. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Changes

If we change this note, we will update the date at the top.

Terms of use

Last updated 13 October 2026

Street Watch Africa is built and run by Africa Elysium in Lagos, Nigeria. By using it, you agree to these terms. Questions: infoafricaelysium@gmail.com.

What Street Watch is

A public record of street problems: what was reported, where, how many people confirmed it, and when it was fixed. We are independent. We are not a government agency, and we cannot promise when or whether a problem will be fixed. For emergencies, call 112.

Independent and non-partisan

Street Watch Africa is independent. We do not support or oppose any political party, candidate or office holder. We do not run campaigns, and we do not accept funding, sponsorship or partnerships from political parties, candidates or campaign groups.

We name agencies, never politicians. The public record is the same for everyone: any journalist, community group, researcher or campaign can see the same map and data, and no one gets private access. Reports, photos and data may not be used to suggest that Street Watch Africa endorses anyone.
